Our desire is to practically love those in our community, and we welcome you to be part of helping people live life to the fullest. Every Tuesday night rain or shine we gather in Carlsbad and Encinitas. We meet no later than 6:40pm and serve dinner promptly at 7pm. We would love to have you join us.
Individuals and groups are welcome to join us. We ask all volunteers to contact us before showing up so we can accurately coordinate our dinners. A typical evening looks like:
Preparing home-cooked food
Helping us serve dinner
Bringing other practical items to donate
Sharing dinner with our guests
Building relationships and a sense of family
Helping clean up
A typical Tuesday dinner starts at 6:40 and wraps up around 8:15
There are a variety of ways to help us. We are completely volunteer run so every contribution is appreciated! Things we need help with:
Administrative work
Sending emails
Updating contact lists
Sorting donations
Fundraising
Requesting donations from local stores and businesses
Before you show up, please fill out our Volunteer Information Form so we can let you know the best night to attend
We encourage you to come observe on your first night to see where you think you’ll fit best
Your first night volunteering, attend our 10-minute orientation right before dinner
When you’re available, join us in sharing dinner with the homeless and hungry in our communities
Besides serving on a Tuesday night or making monetary donations, we appreciate donations of practical items to give our guests, including:
Sleeping bags (this is the top item needed!)
Tents
Blankets and tarps
Toiletries (especially baby wipes)
Clothing
Backpacks
Games

As a nonprofit organization, your monetary contributions allow us to continue serving our communities in Carlsbad and Encinitas. We are a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit and we issue a receipt for each tax deductible gift upon request. Donations go toward:
Buying food for our weekly dinners
Offsetting the costs of running a nonprofit
